LeCroy Introduces LabNotebook™
An All-In-One Reporting Solution That Significantly Extends Documentation Capability of DSOs

Chestnut Ridge, NY – For Release November 18th, 2004

File in PDF format

LeCroy Corporation introduces LabNotebook™, a new built-in feature with an exceptionally innovative in-scope reporting tool that simplifies and automates the reporting capability and functionality of the company’s WaveMaster®, WavePro®, and WaveRunner® digital oscilloscopes (DSOs), SDA serial data analyzers, and DDA disk drive analyzers. LabNotebook is an all-in-one reporting solution that allows engineers to save waveforms and setup data, make text or freehand notes easily, convert measurement results to pdf, rtf, or html documents for file sharing, and more—all directly from the instrument.

The capabilities of LabNotebook make it easier to analyze data and help make a better determination of signal integrity. It eliminates the traditional multi-step reporting process that requires out-of scope applications and extends the depth in which reporting can be done. Engineers can use LabNotebook to create an annotated notebook entry containing all displayed waveforms, DSO setup, and user supplied annotation.

The notebook entry can then generate a report in various formats for hard-copy and/or e-mail to other members of the design team.

Notebook entries can also be stored and recalled via LabNotebook’s Flashback function. With this feature, engineers can recall the saved waveforms and oscilloscope setup, making additional measurements much easier to perform. To further simplify the process, the Flashback function has a keyword filter to quickly find the correct notebook entry for recall.

Another feature that improves reporting capability is the Scribble function, which allows engineers to use a stylus, mouse or touch screen to write notes. These comments appear on the actual waveforms, providing more detail as to what is being measured.

LabNotebook further extends the capabilities and ease of use of LeCroy’s oscilloscopes. The WaveMaster series has the longest memory in the industry—as much as 48 Mpoints per channel (96 Mpoints when using one or two channels), and performs real time sampling at 20 GS/s when using one or two channels. The WavePro models bring unprecedented oversampling capability to the 1 GHZ – 3 GHz oscilloscope class, while the WaveRunner series is the price/performance leader within the 350 MHz – 2 GHz bandwidth class.
