EU RoHS
LeCroy recognizes the importance of the European RoHS (Removal of Hazardous Substances)
Directive legislation aimed at the reduction or removal of hazardous substances
from electronic products. LeCroy products fall into Category 9 (Monitoring and Control
Equipment) of the European RoHS legislation and therefore are exempt from the RoHS
requirements. It was indicated that this exemption is currently being considered
for extension until the year 2016 or possibly beyond.
Although our products are currently exempt from the EU RoHS requirements, we have
been following an internal policy to incorporate RoHS compliant parts in our new
designs to the maximum extent possible. Sound part selection is a key element of
our design process and we strive to carefully consider a range of factors including
performance, quality, reliability, environmental compliance and others. The dramatic
increase of RoHS compliant parts in recent years has been a great benefit to LeCroy
by helping us to incorporate ever increasing numbers of these parts in our new designs.
We have instituted this RoHS transition plan so that we can move in a direction
that will help us realize our objective of producing RoHS compliant products.
LeCroy strives to design & produce only world-class products that fully satisfy
or exceed the expectations of our customers. Recent RoHS inquiries from some of
our customers have demonstrated a growing interest in this area. The EU RoHS legislation
has been key RoHS compliance driver for many companies. It has also demonstrated
important considerations and concerns (especially long term reliability) that resulted
in the adoption of the exemptions including Category 9 that LeCroy products fall
within. We feel our transition plan of steadily moving towards RoHS compliance without
compromising the high performance and high reliability products our customers expect
is a sound approach.
We continue to monitor environmental regulations in each country that we sell our
products and will take the necessary actions to ensure that our products comply
with all regulatory requirements.
LeCroy plans to post updates here regarding our RoHS initiative should there be
any significant changes or developments.

China RoHS
LeCroy products are fully compliant with the China RoHS requirements that went into
effect on 1 March 2007.
In summary, China RoHS requires the following for LeCroy products: inclusion of
an appropriate Environmental Friendly Use Period (EFUP) label, inclusion of appropriate
recycling labeling on packaging materials, and providing detailed RoHS compliance
information in our product Manuals. LeCroy has taken a very conservative approach
in specifying RoHS compliance information for our products. In the case of labeling
packaging material for recycling purposes, LeCroy will exceed the requirements that
China RoHS mandates.
LeCroy continues to monitor new environmental regulations in each country that we
sell our products and will take the necessary actions to ensure that our products
comply with all regulatory requirements.
