FOR USE WITH SILICON STRIP DETECTORS, TIME PRO JECTION CHAMBERS AND
OTHER LOW NOISE APPLICATIONS
The HQV800 Series are extremely compact, low noise charge sensitive hybrid
FET preamplifiers in an 8-channel package. They can be used wherever total
output charge is a key parameter. Three versions are available, offering
different speed/noise trade-offs. The HQV802-M is intended for timing applications,
the HQV810 for silicon strip detectors and Time Projection Chambers (TPC),
and the HQV820-M is suited for applications requir ing long shaping time
such as wire chamber strips and pads or photodiode readout of calorimeters.
All models can tolerate input shunt (detector) capacitance up to 300 pF.
The HQV810 is packaged in a standard 24-pin Ceramic DIP, making it ideal
for high density applications. The HQV802-M and the HQV820-M are packaged
in 24-pin low mass DIPs with 0.7" pin row spacing. All models are designed
to operate with a wide range of supply voltages from ±3 V up to ±12
V. At the lower setting they dissi pate 15mW/channel with remote output
driver pull down resistors. This is also ideal for high density applications.
When used with higher supply voltages, the HQV800 Series can provide extremely
high dynamic range response at the expense of power dissipation.

< 20 V.
Power Consumption: < 20 mW/channel with ±3 V supplies. See
Figure 3 for other voltages.
Package: Standard 24-pin DIP for HQV810, 24-pin DIP with 0.7"
row spacing for HQV802-M and HQV820-M. See Figure 7 for dimensions.

Notes
1. Specifications apply to all model numbers except where otherwise stated.
2. Unless otherwise stated, all specifications are at 25°C, V + = 6
V, Vp; = -6 V, pull-down resistors are 3.9 kohm to Vp; resulting
in 1 mA standing current in output emitter followers.
